Municipal subsidy for cattle farmers

Tamghas. Chandrakot Rural Municipality will provide subsidies to farmers raising bullocks. According to the policy and program of the rural municipality for the current fiscal year, it has been stated that a subsidy of Rs 3,000 per farmer will be provided to farmers raising bullocks within the municipality.

The municipality has selected 258 farmers for the subsidy. Accordingly, there are 24 in ward no. 1, 34 in ward no. 2, nine in ward no. 3, 39 in ward no. 4 and 69 in ward no. 5. Similarly, 31 in ward no. 6, 14 in ward no. 7 and 38 in ward no. 8 have been selected, informed Shiva Gyawali, information officer of the rural municipality.

The municipality had opened applications for the subsidy. Gyawali informed that after monitoring, the municipality has selected farmers who raise at least two or one bullock. The grant amount will be distributed by the concerned ward.

Rural Municipality Chairman Yubaraj KC said that grants have been given to support diversified agricultural systems. ‘Mechanisms and equipment have been given to flat and large land,’ he said, ‘We have started giving grants because only bullocks can work on hilly land.’
