The police have tightened checks as people engage in disorderly activities, throw lolas, drive vehicles under the influence of alcohol, and other activities during the Holi festival.
The police are conducting checks at places including Thapathali, Tripureshwor, New Road, Kantipath, Durbar Marg, Bhadrakali and Baggikhana in Kathmandu Valley. Nepal Police has urged everyone to play Holi with caution to ensure a smooth Holi.
The police have also urged everyone not to play Holi in risky places, including rooftops, to avoid possible accidents. Nepal Police has deployed police to check and inspect more than 90 places in Kathmandu to ensure a smooth Holi. In addition to playing Holi, they are also monitoring public places with drones.
