Nepse rises by 17.28 points after falling for seven consecutive trading days

Kathmandu. The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index, which had been declining continuously for the last seven trading days, has seen a double-digit increase today.

Today, the NEPSE index increased by 17.28 points to stand at 2,736.48. Today, 29.241,365 shares of 323 different companies were bought and sold 79,236 times, resulting in a turnover of Rs. 8.235,268,755.

In today’s trading, the Development Bank Group and the Microfinance Group decreased by 0.33 percent and 0.27 percent, respectively, while the sub-indices of all other groups increased. The highest investment group increased by 1.76 percent and the other group increased by 1.57 percent.

Banking increased by 0.53 percent, Finance by 0.02 percent, Hotel and Tourism by 0.64 percent, Hydropower by 0.85 percent, Life Insurance by 0.64 percent, Production and Processing by 0.18 percent, Mutual Fund by 0.10 percent, Non-Life Insurance by 0.40 percent and Trade by 0.21 percent. The share price of People’s Hydropower Company Limited increased by the most today by 9.79 percent. Also, the share price of Win Nepal Microfinance Financial Institution Limited has entered a negative circuit. Based on the transaction amount and number of shares traded, the highest number of shares traded today was 8,136,521 shares of Machhapuchhre Bank Limited Promoter Shares worth Rs. 813,652,100, according to Nepse.
