Janakpur. Jaleshwor Customs Office, Bhithamod has collected 2.15 billion 50 million 74 thousand in revenue in the eight months of the current fiscal year.
Ram Kumar BK, Information Officer of Jaleshwor Customs Office, informed that 83.89 percent of revenue has been collected so far in the month of Falgun of the current fiscal year 2081/82. The target was to collect 4.53 billion 62 million 90 thousand in revenue annually in the current fiscal year. But the office has collected only 47.41 percent of the target.
According to the details received from the office, 92.16 percent of the revenue has been collected in Shrawan, 83.87 in Bhadra, 87.54 in Asoj, 74.02 in Kartik, 83.36 in Mangsir, 75.14 in Poush, 74.75 in Magh and 80.44 percent so far in Falgun, said Information Officer BK.
The contribution of petroleum products to the total revenue from the materials imported from the Bhithamod border crossing of the Jaleshwor Customs Office is 49.14 percent. He said that the revenue target has been reduced due to the decrease in petroleum products imported from Jaleshwar Bhithamod after the Motihari and Amlekhgunj petroleum pipelines in Bihar state of India came into operation.
According to the office, there has been a decrease in the import of petroleum products, coal, potatoes and lime in the current fiscal year compared to the previous year. Information Officer BK said that the main imported materials from the Jaleshwar Customs Office include petroleum products, coal, potatoes, rice, wheat, pulses, vegetables, fruits, etc.
