Remittances increased by 7.3 percent, number of people receiving work permits increased by 274,000

Kathmandu. Remittance inflow has increased by 7.3 percent to Rs 900.58 billion in the seven months of the current fiscal year. In the same period of the previous year, remittance inflow had increased by 18.8 percent.

According to data released by the Nepal Rastra Bank on Monday, remittance inflow in US dollars has increased by 5.3 percent to Rs 6.65 billion, while such inflow had increased by 16.4 percent in the previous year.

Similarly, net secondary income (cash transfer) has reached Rs 985.17 billion during the review period. In the same period of the previous year, such income was 910 billion 77 million.

During the review period, the number of Nepalis who received final labor permits (institutional and individual new) for foreign employment was 274 thousand 622 and the number of those who received re-labor permits was 190 thousand 886. In the same period of the previous year, such numbers were 245 thousand 432 and 157 thousand 45 respectively.
