Kathmandu. Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said that India has taken a step forward in space warfare by mastering the most advanced technologies like ‘anti-satellite’.
Singh said that India has made great progress in its expertise in aerospace medicine during a visit to the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) Institute of Aerospace Medicine (IAM) in Bengaluru.
“Many private space agencies around the world are also exploring space now. This is a big opportunity and they will also face many new challenges. In such a situation, we need to pay adequate attention to providing aerospace medicine facilities to those astronauts and to meet the new challenges they face,” Defence Minister Singh said in his address.
Similarly, another example of space transportation is space tourism. Many aerospace medicine companies in the world also said that they will play a big role in this sector. India’s aviation sector has been growing steadily since independence. In the last decade, increasing demand and the government’s unwavering commitment have led to further progress in the aviation sector.
India is one of the top players in the global civil aviation ecosystem. India is the fastest growing aviation market. India is currently the third largest market in the world in the domestic sector. In the last decade, the number of aircraft in India has increased from 400 to 800, while the number of airports has increased from 74 to 159.
Minister Singh said that he is confident that the aviation sector will reach further heights in the coming days and said that air transport in the areas of air ambulance, cargo and others is continuously increasing in India and the world.
“We are about to touch new heights in space. The need for expertise in aerospace medicine is increasing. Aerospace medicine is not just limited to treating diseases in space, but also addresses the fundamental physical and mental changes that any human being faces in space.”
“Therefore, I feel that aerospace medicine is no less than a boon for those who spend long periods of time outside the confines of the Earth, away from their homes, families and comforts,” he added.
The Defence Minister said that he was proud that IAM was also advising on the design and development of the country’s most modern Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA). Singh said that this contribution is very important in the journey of self-reliance that the country is moving forward on today.
