The country is now on the path to self-reliance: Prime Minister Oli

Mahottari, 22 Falgun S Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that there is no alternative to taking the country on the path of self-reliance. Inaugurating ‘Nepal Pulp and Paper Industries’ today in Gaushala Municipality-1, Ramnagar, Mahottari, he said that priority would be given to industrial development and employment creation.

He said, ‘Now we have no alternative to embarking on the path of self-reliance. Through collaboration, youth can develop mango farming, and provincial governments should also take the lead in this.’ Prime Minister Oli informed that the government is clear that prosperity cannot be achieved without the efforts of the private sector. He said that the establishment of a paper industry would help ordinary people limited to the kitchen and create jobs. He expressed his belief that this industry will contribute to the country’s self-reliance by providing opportunities for using its own paper within the country and balancing the trade deficit.

Prime Minister Oli said that the current government is not just for the government but to build the country. He pledged to quickly complete projects including the Postal Highway and Sunkoshi Marine. He said, “Anarchy, force and fraud will not prevail anymore.” He stressed that the monarchy will not return to the country and that everything should be done according to the constitution.

It is said that with the operation of this industry established by IME Group, new paper can be produced in Nepal from used paper. This will reduce paper imports and the industry has stated that it will provide employment to about 300 people.
