‘A large-scale garden is being built to make Rampur a model city. The city is working on the construction of the necessary infrastructure to develop Rampur, which has the potential for tourism geographically, as a tourism-friendly, green and well-equipped city. This park is an important part of that,’ said Mayor Thapa.
Says that Rampur will become a city worth seeing and visiting as it is connected by the Kaligandaki Corridor road through the holy Kaligandaki River and the Rampur Valley, and the city is working on the necessary plans for that.
Once this park connected to the municipality is ready, it will also be convenient for service recipients who come to the office to get services. It will become a place of rest and a means of observation. The municipality has stated that the construction work is progressing with a view to completion by mid-June.
Out of the amount of Rs 267.1 million allocated for the Rural Development and Small Urban Infrastructure Construction Plan of the Ministry of Urban Development of Lumbini Province, the park is being constructed at a cost of Rs 13.584,281.30 paisa.
The remaining amount is being used to upgrade the auxiliary roads in Rampur Municipality-5 and 6. Mayor Thapa informed that under this project, about nine kilometers of road upgrading work is being done here, including the park.
The development of this place has gained momentum after the road network was connected to big cities of the country like Butwal, Narayanghat, Pokhara and Kathmandu. With the access to road facilities, Rampur is developing as an accessible city.
The local government in this area is rapidly advancing the work of upgrading areas and religious sites with tourism potential. The locals expect that this will help in increasing tourism activities.
