Palpa. The fire that broke out on the Shantarat mountain on the border of Ribdikot rural municipalities 1 and 2 in the district since last Tuesday afternoon has not yet been extinguished.
The District Police Office has stated that the fire could not be extinguished due to excessive leaf fall and continuous wind.
Four community forests spread over an area of about 170 hectares have been damaged. According to the Division Forest Office, the damage occurred in Deurali’s Lek Community Forest, Bharekhola Community Forest, Madhuban Community Forest and Vrindavan Community Forest.
The Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and locals are working to put out the fire.
