Tanahun. The work inside the underground power house of the 140 MW Tanahun Hydropower Project under construction in Jhaputar, Rishing Rural Municipality-1, Tanahun has been completed, but the construction of the transmission line has been delayed.
Project Chief Shyamji Bhandari said that electromechanical work is ongoing in the power house under Package 2 of the project. Header tunnel digging, penstock pipe installation, welding and concreting are being done. 66 percent physical progress has been made in Package 2 so far.
The overall physical progress of the project, which is being worked on in three packages, has reached 65 percent. There has been no significant progress in the construction of the transmission line under Package 3. According to Project Chief Bhandari, the delay was due to the forest area.
