Kathmandu. National Independent Party MP Dr. Swarnim Waglel has accused the government of trying to seize financial institutions by bringing an ordinance.
He said this while presenting a proposal to reject the ‘Financial Procedures and Financial Responsibility (First Amendment), Ordinance, 2081′ in the House of Representatives’ meeting on Wednesday.
MP Wagle has also drawn the government’s attention to implementing the law on money laundering. He said that the US Department of Justice has proven that 55 million US dollars was taken in Widewood and put it on the website for the world to see, but the action process has not been taken forward.
He said that even the courts have fallen into the shadow of the parties. He said that the country will have to face more crises when it comes to the distribution of shares in the constitutional bodies.
He said, ‘Internationally, our banking transactions, including foreign ones, will be monitored more. If we do not improve, we are almost certain to be blacklisted. We have made laws including money laundering but not implemented them, the US Department of Justice has proven that 55 million US dollars was taken in Widewood and put it on the website for the world to see. But there is no action here. Here, money laundering is being done through casinos and hundi.’
