Parbat. Two people died and seven others were injured in a Bolero jeep accident that occurred this morning in Bihadi Rural Municipality of the district.
The District Police Office has stated that two people died on the spot when a jeep (Lu 1 Ja 4460) heading from Purti Ghat in Kaligandaki Rural Municipality of Gulmi to Waling in Syangja met with an accident at Lidi in Bihadi-6.
61-year-old Min Prasad Upadhyay of Ranipani, Bihadi-3, and 64-year-old Dil Kumari Bhattachan of Purti Ghat in Kaligandaki Rural Municipality-4, Gulmi died on the spot, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabin Bista, who was at the scene. .
According to him, six people injured in the accident have been taken to Palpa for treatment, while a child is receiving treatment at a local health post with minor injuries.
The police have stated that the accident occurred due to brake failure on the uphill road. The identity of the injured has not been revealed and further investigation into the incident is underway, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Bista.
