Rupandehi. Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has said that it is necessary to treat everyone well to develop the tourism sector. Inaugurating the Immigration Office in Belahiya, Rupandehi, during a program today, he urged the employees working at the Immigration Office to behave politely, simply and sweetly with tourists and public service recipients.

Noting that the behavior of employees tells the state of the country, Home Minister Lekhak instructed the employees to provide service in a conscious and cordial manner. Immigration is the mirror of the country. He said, “Employees should provide service in a civilized and polite manner. Sometimes tourists and other service recipients may get angry when the paperwork is not completed, but such employees should present themselves politely. They should work with the spirit of service. Employees are not allowed to get angry and mistreat service recipients.’

Home Minister Lekhak said that the infrastructure built here has established the Belahiya border crossing in Rupandehi as the largest border crossing in the country. He said that there are 13 immigration offices in the country’s border area and these offices have made it easy for tourists to travel in Nepal.

‘In recent days, tourist arrivals from all border crossings have been good. Since this place is the birthplace of Buddha, there is potential for religious tourism. The government is creating a tourism-friendly environment and is managing the arrival of tourists,’ said Home Minister Lekhak. ‘The government’s goal is to increase tourist arrivals. When tourists increase, it makes the country economically prosperous.’

Mentioning that Nepalis are citizens raised in the best culture in the world, Home Minister Lekhak said that tourists will understand Nepal the way they are treated at the immigration office. He said that the current government is pursuing prosperity.

‘The government is working to control corruption, maintain good governance, and create an investment and business-friendly environment,’ said Home Minister Lekhak. ‘Even if the results are not immediately visible, they will come gradually.’ He said that the government is protecting the constitution and working to prioritize sustainable peace, development, and prosperity in the country.

Home Minister Lekhak said that there have been good signs in the country’s economy recently. “The government’s work has been appreciated by the private sector. We have issued some ordinances to solve the problems seen in the economy, everyone has praised the contents included in those ordinances and suggested that they be implemented quickly,” he said. Home Minister Lekhak claimed that the ordinance would be passed in no time and that further improvements would be made in the economic sector.

At the same program, Siddharthanagar Municipality Mayor Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan said that since it is the gateway to Lumbini, they are committed to its development. He said that the dust has been bothering locals and tourists since the road in the border area has not been built for a long time. “With the development of this place, there are many bases for the country to take a leap in the tourism sector,” said Mayor Khan.

The office building was built at a cost of Rs. 102.5 million. This building is disabled-friendly and earthquake-resistant and has fire protection equipment installed.
