Kathmandu. Policy surrenders of life insurance companies have increased till the end of the fiscal year 2081/082. In the seven months of the current fiscal year 2081/082, 62,523 insureds of 14 life insurance companies have surrendered insurance worth 8.59 billion 2 lakh 2 thousand.
Life Insurance Corporation (Nepal) LIC has been among those with the highest policy surrenders. According to the data of the Nepal Insurance Authority, LIC has surrendered 15,362 insurance policies worth 2.59 billion 7.9 million 3 thousand rupees.
Similarly, National Life Insurance Company has surrendered 8,491 insurance policies worth 786.4 million 48 thousand rupees.
Met Life has surrendered 2,095 insurance policies worth 241.2 million rupees, while Sanima Reliance Insurance has surrendered 1,077 insurance policies worth 153.6 million rupees.
Similarly, Asian Life Insurance’s insurance The surrenders are 5,111 worth 541.9 million, while National Life Insurance has surrendered 3,720 policies worth 551.5 million.
14,25 insureds of Nepal Life have surrendered policies worth 2.36 billion rupees. Suryajyoti Life Insurance has surrendered 3,486 policies worth Rs 469.9 million.
Himalayan Life has surrendered 4,137 policies worth Rs 378.1 million, while IME Life Insurance has surrendered 1,073 policies worth Rs 123.1 million.
Citizen Life Insurance has surrendered 1,660 policies worth Rs 149.1 million, while Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life has surrendered 882 policies worth Rs 124.6 million. Reliable Life Insurance has surrendered 965 policies worth Rs 64.3 million.
Also, Sun Nepal Life Insurance has surrendered 443 policies worth Rs 45.5 million.
