Kathmandu. Russia and the United States have suddenly become closer. Even with the arrival of Donald Trump as president, the two powerful countries have started to get closer.

The United States has started to get closer to Russia, changing the balance of world power. Earlier, the United States, including European countries, and Ukraine were fighting against Russia together. But with the arrival of Trump, relations with Russia are moving forward. Trump, who entered the election with the slogan of ‘Make America Great Again’, defeated Kamala Harris of the Democrat Party by a large majority and became president.

A few days ago, after a disagreement in the talks between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky, Trump is putting forward policies to further irritate Ukraine. The US defense chief has recently ordered a halt to cyber operations against Russia.

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has ordered a halt to cyber operations against Russia, US media reported. According to the New York Times, the order is part of a comprehensive reassessment of US actions against Moscow. The Pentagon declined to comment when asked by AFP. A senior defense official said, “We do not comment on or discuss cyber intelligence, plans or operations due to operational security concerns.” He said, “Defense Secretary Hegseth has no higher priority than protecting the ‘warfighter’ in all operations, including the cyber domain.”

The change comes as US President Donald Trump pushes for talks to end the war in Ukraine and days after the US leader criticized his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky during a meeting at the White House. Western countries have accused the Kremlin of orchestrating a series of events aimed at undermining support for Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Trump has been pushing for a rapprochement with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Zelensky, sidelining Kiev and Europe as he seeks to build ties with Putin. “We should spend less time worrying about Putin,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social Platform on Sunday night. U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz denied reports of a cyber policy change in an interview with CNN on Sunday, referring to the reopening of relations with Russia. “That has not been part of our discussions,” Waltz said. “All kinds of punishments and rewards will be used to end this war.”
