Two injured in Kathmandu after fleeing after earthquake at night

Kathmandu. Two people were injured in Kathmandu while fleeing the 6.1 magnitude earthquake that struck near Bhairabkunda in Sindhupalchowk this morning.

Senior Superintendent of Police Shekhar Khanal, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, said that two people were injured while fleeing to Baneshwor. The injured are Prashant Thiling, a resident of Shantinagar in Triyuga, Udayapur, and Hari Gaire, a resident of Baneshwor in Madhyabindu, Nawalparasi.

Thiling was injured after falling on the roadside while fleeing, and Gaire was injured while fleeing from a hostel, police said. The earthquake struck at 2:51 am this morning.

Nepal Police Spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General of Police Dinesh Kumar Acharya said that although there were reports of minor houses being destroyed and some minor injuries in some districts of eastern Nepal, there was no major damage.
