Tulsipur. Nepal Electricity Authority Distribution Center Tulsipur has started disconnecting the lines of customers who have not paid their bills. Distribution Center Chief Shiva Narayan Gosholi informed that the lines of 888 customers who have not paid their bills for more than three months have been disconnected.
He said that the lines of customers who have completed 90 days to pay their dues by the end of Magh have been disconnected. There is a provision to disconnect the lines after 60 days of non-payment. Here, the lines were disconnected after 90 days.
Rs. 42 lakh 42 thousand 199 is yet to be collected from the 888 customers whose lines have been disconnected. Apart from this, distribution center chief Goshali informed that Rs 30 million 13 lakh 92 thousand 336 in arrears are yet to be collected from 1,733 customers.
The Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City area has the highest arrears. The distribution center has stated that new lines for 860 people have been connected by mid-Magh.
From which Rs 70 million 59 lakh 531 in revenue has been collected. Advance electricity bills are also being collected. So far in the current fiscal year, 13 lakh nine thousand four hundred and ninety eight have been paid in advance. There is a system to pay electricity bills online, but so far only 24 percent are using this facility.
