Birtamod. Traffic Police Post Kakarbhitta has implemented the Traffic Violation Recording System (TVRS) system on the main roads under Mechinagar from today. According to Deputy Inspector Purna Gautam, Chief of Kakarbhitta Traffic Police Post, with the implementation of the system, it will help in traffic management and drivers punished for driving vehicles in violation of traffic rules will have to make transactions through the banking system instead of cash.
The TVRS system, which was previously started in Birtamod and Damak in Jhapa, has been extended eastwards to Mechinagar, informed Chief Police Inspector Ganesh Poudel of the District Traffic Police Office, Jhapa. He informed that there are plans to gradually expand the TVRS service to other roads in Jhapa including Gauriganj, Kankai, Surunga, Buddhashanti, Arjundhara in the coming days.
The Traffic Police Office, Jhapa, has clarified that it is going to implement this system on major roads with heavy traffic as it will help in traffic management by automatically identifying vehicles violating traffic rules.
The TVRS system is expected to improve traffic rule compliance and reduce the accident rate as it monitors and records activities such as vehicle speed, lane changes, and traffic signal violations. Similarly, it is expected that the amount to be paid as fines will be directly deposited in the revenue, which will also help in making it transparent and accountable.
