Kathmandu. Kathmandu Metropolitan City is organizing the ‘Kathmandu Educational Fair’ on February 16 and 17 at the National Assembly Building on Exhibition Road.
The fair is being organized to showcase and showcase the impact of the programs launched by the Metropolitan City on students, as well as the knowledge and skills they have learned from them. At a press conference held here today, KMC spokesperson Navin Manandhar informed that a fair is being organized for the innovation and upgrading of school education.
He said that community schools have started various programs to conduct school education scientifically and practically and in accordance with the interests of students and the wishes of parents.
The fair will include programs such as improving the quality of education in schools operating within the metropolis, as well as educational, physical, mental, and character development of children, school infrastructure, and teacher capacity development.
In addition, the fair will be facilitated by the Metropolitan City’s Urban Planning Commission, Education Department, resource teachers, principals, and teachers. The fair, which will feature stalls from 35 different educational subgroups, will be attended by teachers, students, parents, public representatives, and domestic and foreign guests, according to the organizers.
It is said that students will showcase the latest learning activities in the exhibition and presentation. An exhibition reflecting Nepali language, original culture, costumes, original music and singing will be included.
Student model parliament practice, discussion on school education reform, an exhibition of Maruhiti water quality testing and learning through technology under the Baba subgroup of ‘Book Free Friday’, a model exhibition of more than 1,000 ‘sketching’ depicting students’ experiences, exchange of best practices for improving results, and an information center will be arranged for information on educational activities in the metropolis, Spokesperson Manandhar informed.
According to him, a roundtable discussion will be held at the fair to get feedback on the latest dimensions of educational activities. There are 61,329 students studying in 87 community schools and 210,934 students studying in 524 institutional schools within the metropolis.
Shailendra Jha, a member of the Metropolitan City Planning Commission, said that the metropolis has now increased research-based investment with the aim of developing, upgrading and enhancing the quality of school education.
According to him, this will improve early childhood development, expand infrastructure, enhance teacher capacity, increase the availability and usability of educational materials, use of information technology in teaching and learning, Book Free Friday (integrated learning, creative learning and skills in education), Teacher College Program, and result improvement program are being run.
School infrastructure and educational environment The ‘Education for the Poor, the Will of the Metropolitan City’ program has been implemented under the Mahanagar Gaurav Yojana under the multi-year program for the city.
Similarly, the ‘Beautiful School Project’ and ‘Creative School’ have been implemented under the Mahanagar Swarnim Yojana, which is regularly and prioritized.
The goal of the metropolis is to contribute to the production of timely and responsible citizens by making theoretical educational programs experimental and practical through the programs conducted in this way.
