Kathmandu. The government has decided to establish temporary coordination and liaison offices of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority in Jajarkot, Achham and Bajhang to assess and reconstruct the damage caused by the earthquake in western Nepal.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority Steering Committee held at Singha Durbar on Thursday.
Talking to media persons after the meeting, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak claimed that the work of assessing the damage caused to private houses due to the earthquake with its epicenter in Jajarkot is progressing at a rapid pace.
He said that the reconstruction of the earthquake with its epicenter in Doti and Bajhang will be carried out and that He said that the Authority will establish temporary coordination and liaison offices in Jajarkot, Achham and Bajhang to conduct the remaining DDA.
He also said that the liaison and coordination offices will be established within this month.
He said, “The work of assessing the damage caused to private houses due to the earthquake that had its epicenter in Jajarkot is progressing rapidly. After that, we will proceed with the reconstruction and rehabilitation work. Similarly, the reconstruction of the earthquake that had its epicenter in Doti and Bajhang, which has already been DDA, will proceed. DDA will also be done for those that have not been done. For this work, we will establish temporary coordination and liaison offices of the Authority in Jajarkot, Achham and Bajhang within this month.” Now this reconstruction and rehabilitation work will move forward at a rapid pace.
