Kathmandu. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that it is necessary to create a crime-free environment using technology. He said this while addressing the International Conference on Digital Crime in Kathmandu on Thursday.
He said that using digital achievements, we need to create a crime-free environment before we can control crime. He mentioned that if a crime has been committed, there must be a proper, fair, and effective investigation, proper prosecution, and punishment according to the mistake.
He said that efforts within the state and political boundaries cannot stop online crimes, and that cooperation from all countries is necessary.
He said, “Using digital achievements, we need to create a nature that prevents crimes from happening before we can control crime.” If a crime has been committed, a proper, fair, and effective investigation should be conducted. Proper prosecution should be conducted, punishment should be given according to the mistake, so that the perpetrators do not go unpunished, and the innocent do not get caught. We should work effectively keeping this in mind. Justice is even more important. Today, political boundaries and national borders do not stop crime. Digital crime does not care about borders even more. Therefore, even today, crimes committed in the digital era using digital technology cannot be controlled by the efforts of a single country, even with efforts within borders alone.
He said that crime can be controlled through mutual cooperation.
