There is a mythological story that Hindus have been celebrating the festival of Shivaratri as the day Shiva was born.

Distribution of Prasad on Shivaratri

The Prasad of the Shivaratri festival has been distributed at the Annapurna Hotel located at Bhagwati Tole, Tansen Municipality-3 in the district. On the occasion of the festival, the hotel distributed the Prasad of Shivaratri. The hotel has stated that this year too, like every year, Prasad is being distributed.

From travelers walking on the road to pilgrims returning from visiting the Shivalaya temple, they are receiving Prasad. He said, “When I was in Delhi earlier, I had seen Shivaji’s Prasad being distributed there. I have a deep devotion towards Shiva from the bottom of my heart. After returning home, I have been distributing prasad at homes and hotels every year.’

Basyal has been performing puja and distributing prasad on the day of Shivaratri, and has also been providing financial and food support by visiting various Shiva temples and ashrams. He has been providing salaries and clothes to the priests who have been worshipping at the Narayandanda Shiva temple in Barangdi.
