Kathmandu. CPN (Maoist Center) MP Rekha Sharma has accused the government of trying to forcefully interfere in the parliament. Speaking during a special session of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, MP Sharma made this allegation.
She accused the minister of amending even the bill passed by the parliamentary committee. She said that the government has issued ordinances without withdrawing the bill under consideration in the parliament and has been holding committee meetings in the ministers’ hotels.
She accused the ruling party MPs, not the government, of answering the questions asked by the opposition party leaders in the parliament.
She said, ‘We are seeing the government’s continuous forceful interference in the parliament. The bill passed by the parliamentary committee is amended by the minister. Ordinances are issued without even withdrawing the bill under consideration in the parliament, committee meetings are organized in the hotels of the ministers. Not only is it insulting not to answer the question and answer program, but the questions asked by the opposition party leaders are answered not by the government but by the MPs of the ruling party. This kind of activity should be stopped. According to the principle of separation of powers, the parliament should be allowed to use its powers properly.’
He said that the government’s coercive actions on the parliament should be stopped.
