Kathmandu. The presence of devotees, saints, and visitors visiting the Pashupatinath Temple during the Mahashivaratri festival has increased. The Pashupati Area Development Fund has stated that it has managed the festival with the expectation of the highest number of devotees in a decade.
To celebrate the Mahashivaratri festival with joy, the Mahashivaratri Festival Management Main Ceremony Committee was formed under the chairmanship of Badri Prasad Pandey, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Pashupati Area Development Fund.
Fund Member Secretary Dr. Milan Kumar Thapa said, ‘Nine thematic sub-committees have been formed, the sub-committees have taken forward the work according to their responsibilities, we have given high priority to the management aspect and focused our full attention on making it easy for the visiting devotees.’
Nepal, India, Bhutan, Devotees are coming from countries including Bangladesh and Myanmar. It has been decided to open the doors of the Pashupatinath Temple at 2 am on Wednesday to arrange for worship and darshan in an organized manner.
He said, ‘Teams from the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and National Investigation Department have been mobilized for security. The Pashupati Area Development Trust will also have its own security team.’
Similarly, proper arrangements and coordination of health services have been made. The temple premises have been managed by saints. Arrangements have been made for accommodation at the Dharamshala located on the temple premises.
The trust has stated that free accommodation, food, etc. have been arranged in areas including Hanshamandap and Vankali along with Tilganga.
