Gandaki. The first-ever trilateral tourism exhibition NICE-2025 (Nepal-India-China-Exhibition) has started in the tourism capital Pokhara from today. It is said that the exhibition is being started with the aim of attracting more and more foreign tourists from neighboring countries India and China.
More than 600 people, including 80 buyers, 70 sellers and 75 international representatives from the tourism sector, are participating in the three-day exhibition. The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Nepal Chapter has said that the exhibition is being organized in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board, Pokhara Tourism Council and other government and private sector partners and stakeholders.
The exhibition is expected to bring together government and private sector tourism and stakeholder organizations from the three countries to share professional experiences, expand networks and create business opportunities. Pokhara is becoming a destination for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts. Located at an altitude of 822 meters above sea level, Pokhara is also known as the city of lakes and the gateway to the Himalayas and trekking routes. From here, three of the world’s 14 highest peaks, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna-1 and Manaslu, can be seen.
The exhibition, organized with the slogan ‘Nice for MICE and More’, aims to promote Pokhara not only as a trekking and adventure tourism center but also as an attractive destination for MICE tourism (i.e. meetings, conferences, incentives, weddings and other celebrations, festivals, ceremonies, fairs and exhibitions), according to PATA Nepal.
PATA Nepal Chapter Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Suresh Singh Budal said that the exhibition was organized with the aim of promoting Nepal’s tourism potential and integrated business opportunities in two major economies and tourism source markets, India and China. On the second day of the exhibition, on Falgun 13, The Knowledge Forum will feature tourism experts sharing knowledge on topics such as ‘Visa Destination Insights: Supporting the Tourism Ecosystem to Sustainable Hospitality from Construction to Operation’. The exhibition will also feature BTU exhibition, business meetings and networking sessions.
The exhibition is expected to help attract more tourists from India and China to Nepal. It is also believed that the exhibition will be helpful in promoting tourism potential and integrated trade. The event will help further strengthen trade relations by enhancing business networks and collaboration between the three countries, especially in the fields of tourism, hospitality and related industries.
