The 65-megawatt Myagdikhola Hydropower Project has reached the Jeltung settlement in Bagar during the construction of an access road to the road reaching Naura in the same ward.
After the construction of a six-kilometer-long road from Naura to the banks of the Myagdi River, cutting through the steep hills, the Myagdi Khola project has been connected to the Jeltung road in Bagar, informed Jyoti Kumar KC, head of the Myagdikhola Hydropower Project. With the connection of Bagar, the last human settlement under the circular Dhaulagiri trekking route, with the road network, it has become easier for the locals to travel to and from the rural municipality center and the district headquarters, said Ward Chairman of Dhaulagiri-4 Mudika, Yam Prasad Ghartimagar. About 60 households in Bagar and Jeltung villages have benefited from the road.
Previously, the road network has shortened the journey, which took about 2 to 3 hours, to 30 minutes via the narrow path built on the Akkara cliff of Naura. With the expansion of road access, Urja Developers Pvt. Ltd. The construction of infrastructure including bunker houses and camps for the power house in Jeltung of the 65-megawatt capacity Myagdikhola Hydropower Project, promoted by Hydro Village Pvt. Ltd., is about to begin.
The project has stated that the construction of the power house and tunnel will be carried out simultaneously with the work of expanding the access of an additional 11 kilometers of road to Dobhan, the dam site of this project. The 37-megawatt capacity Upper Myagdi Hydropower Project had recently expanded the road access to Chechung village of Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality-4. The road has not yet reached Arche and Nerwang in this ward.
