Jhapa. Mechi Customs Office has collected 8 billion 848.698 billion in revenue in the seven months of the current fiscal year.
According to Ganapati Kandel, Information Officer of Mechi Customs Office, the target was to collect 9 billion 609.215 billion in revenue by the month of Magh of the current fiscal year. In the same period of the last fiscal year 2080/81, the target was to collect 8 billion 907.67 billion in revenue, of which only 76.10 percent was collected.
In the seven months of the current fiscal year, 5 billion 281.422 billion in revenue has been collected from the import of petroleum products. Similarly, Information Officer Kandel informed that revenue of Rs. 442.25 million 42 thousand was collected from the import of vegetables, Rs. 247.91 million from transport vehicles and their spare parts, Rs. 159.685 million from pulses, and Rs. 157.325 million from mineral products.
In the seven months of the current fiscal year, goods worth Rs. 16.44 billion 48.63 million were exported, while goods worth Rs. 92.22 billion 29 thousand and Rs. 27.345 billion 53.81 million were imported, resulting in revenue of Rs. 8.75 billion 64.63 million.
