The municipal office has stated that an infrastructure worth Rs 7 million was built last year to transform the said hill into Blue Hill, and this year, a contract has been invited to build a Shiva statue with an infrastructure cost of Rs 2.5 million.

The municipality has been planning to make the hill a tourist destination since last year as a pride plan. A detailed project report (DPR) of Rs 245.622 crore was prepared to build infrastructure by naming Doyko Hill as Blue Hill.

The municipality has named Doyko Hill, which has beautiful natural beauty, ‘Blue Hill’, said Ward Chairman of Baglung-9 Raju Thapa. Infrastructure construction has begun with a huge investment from the city. We have set the aim of attracting religious and nature-loving tourists by building a Shiva idol on the hill. “Road upgrading is necessary here,” he said, adding that other infrastructure will get priority after it becomes a tourist destination.

The Baglung Municipality, which acquired land and built the foundation and other infrastructure last year, has invited bids this year with a plan to build a giant Shiva statue on the building, Ward Chairman Thapa informed. According to him, additional infrastructure including a forest picnic area, meditation center, scenic observation point, toilet, gym hall, temple, parking, etc. will be built in the Blue Hill area.

Mayor Basanta Kumar Shrestha said that the municipality is investing a large budget to bring domestic tourists to Blue Hill for sightseeing. The municipality has allocated a budget of Rs. 7 million last year to make this area a tourist destination and has completed the work of enclosing and conserving the land from that budget. Mayor Shrestha mentioned that preparations have begun for the construction of a multi-purpose building and the construction of a statue this year.

्Doy, which has tourism potential within the municipality, is environmentally green. The mountains and Baglung Bazaar are visible right in front of the eyes. Infrastructure worth Rs. 25 million will be built this year at the place where the foundation stone was laid last year to bring in tourists by combining nature and religion,” said Mayor Shrestha. “We have named it Blue Hill to attract domestic and foreign tourists.
