Kathmandu. Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Ramnath Adhikari has said that a radical change can be brought about in Nepal’s agriculture if the traditional agricultural system is modernized and biological resources are scientifically used and promoted. He said this while addressing a program organized in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
He informed that Nepal is a country rich in natural resources and resources, but it is not recognized. He said that in a country rich in biodiversity like Nepal, if medicinal plants and other biological resources can be used commercially and scientifically, it will contribute greatly to the modernization of agriculture as well as economic prosperity.
He mentioned that various plants, herbs, agricultural crops and biological resources found in Nepal make an important contribution to our agricultural system, medicine production, and nutritional security. He said that conservation, research, production-oriented management and commercialization of biological resources have not yet been effective.
Minister Adhikari said that the government is committed to promoting agricultural research, conservation of biodiversity and industrial and commercial use of biological resources.
