National Assembly: Objections to misbehavior against employees

Kathmandu. National Assembly members have expressed their objections to the increase in incidents of physical attacks and abuse against civil servants by local level people’s representatives. During the zero hour of today’s meeting of the National Assembly, the members said that it is a matter of serious concern that the employees are not safe from the people’s representatives.

MP Padam Bahadur Pariyar objected to the attack on the employees by the people’s representatives of Bandipur Rural Municipality-6 in Tanahun and demanded an investigation. Another member of parliament, Manarupa Sharma, also protested the same incident and demanded action against the culprits.

MP Renu Chand drew the attention of the government to end all kinds of discrimination and take action against those who discriminate. MP Bishnu Devi Pudasaini stressed the need for inter-agency coordination in the construction of infrastructure including sewage, drinking water, and electricity in Kathmandu.

MPs Rukmini Koirala, Bishnukumari Sapkota, Bishnu Bahadur Bishwakarma, Krishna Prasad Adhikari, and Savitri Malla stressed that the government should immediately initiate an investigation into the death of Prakriti Lamsal of Butwal, who was studying at KIIT University in Odisha, India.
