Kathmandu. Around 220 locals have availed services from a free Ayurveda health camp in Helambu Rural Municipality of Sindhupalchowk.
The camp, which was jointly organized by Helambu Rural Municipality and Madan Bhandari Memorial College, Dhanwantari Institute of Medical Sciences and Annapurna Times, was inaugurated on Saturday by Rural Municipality Chairperson Nima Gyalzen Hyolmo and Ward No. 7 Chairperson Nil Bahadur Khadka along with their health check-ups.
10 BAMS doctors including a specialist (MD) from Kathmandu, one person from the District Ayurveda and Alternative Hospital and one physiotherapist had arrived for the camp held at the health post in Helambu-7, Mahankal. .
According to program coordinator Dr. Sushma Saud, the camp provided testing and counseling for various diseases, including general health checkups, arthritis, alcoholism, stomach problems, gastritis, piles, fissures, fistulas, and menstrual disorders.
She said that most of the patients who came for treatment came with arthritis and alcoholism problems. ‘Women also had problems like lower abdominal pain and menstrual disorders,’ she said. Public awareness messages about diet, lifestyle, yoga, and health were also disseminated in the camp.
