Kathmandu. China has built more than 30,000 basic-level smart factories to accelerate industrial digitalization and intellectual upgrading, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) said.
The initiative under China’s smart factory gradient work has created 1,200 advanced-level and 230 excellent-level smart factories. According to the ministry, this achievement highlights the significant progress made in reshaping the country’s manufacturing landscape.
230 excellence-level factories cover more than 80 percent of the manufacturing sector in 31 provinces in China. MIIT said it has completed nearly 2,000 advanced scenarios, including AI-driven quality inspection and digital research and development.
This includes using the necessary smart manufacturing equipment, industrial software, and systems focused on specific scenarios of smart manufacturing. By doing so, they can achieve real-time data collection, automation of key production processes, increase informatization of production and operational management, and utilize intelligent exploration in some aspects.
