Kathmandu. Nepal Communist Party (UML) MP Ishwor Bahadur Rijal has said that the budget allocation for the current fiscal year is not efficient. He said that the budget has been made in a way that is too allocation-oriented for limited resources.
Speaking at a special time in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, MP Rijal said, “The budget for the current fiscal year is like distributing one spoon of ghee to 1,000 people. The budget prepared by the federal government has become distribution-oriented.” He said that increasing production and fair distribution have not been prioritized in the budget.
He also raised questions about the effectiveness of Parliament. Today, the meeting was adjourned for some time due to the obstruction of the opposition National Independent Party. MP Rijal said that all parties should be responsible for making the Parliament effective and result-oriented. “Parliament is a place of policy, not a place of stubbornness. Parliament is a place of regulation, not a place of name-calling,” he said. He said that one should express oneself responsibly and make Parliament dignified.
