Former Prime Minister and respected leader of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Socialist) Jhalanath Khanal laid the foundation stone of ‘Big Indus Padamnagar’ on Monday and expressed confidence that it will contribute to the country’s industrial sector.

‘This is a historic project. I am confident that this industrial sector will make a significant contribution to the country’s prosperity through industry,’ said leader Khanal, ‘This is an example that the private sector can do a lot and patriotic entrepreneurs are capable of creating jobs by operating industries within the country.’

He expressed the view that by operating industries within the country, the problem of unemployment can be solved and the increasing migration of youth abroad can be stopped.

Neupane, a local resident and the owner of ‘Big Indus Padamnagar’, who is also the owner of various construction companies and a hydropower entrepreneur, informed that the soil of his native land is suitable for establishing an industry to perpetuate the contribution made by his grandfather Padam Bahadur to the social sector. .

‘While working on big projects abroad, I was in a hurry to do something at home, so I decided to start an industry that suits the soil here. Every time I came to the village, the locals would say that I should do something for my birthplace,’ he said at the foundation stone laying ceremony. ‘I am confident that this will directly benefit our brothers and sisters here.’

According to him, a ‘pulp’ industry will be built to make juice packets of fruits including mango, jackfruit, jackfruit, and watermelon. Mangoes produced by farmers during the mango season will be purchased at the rate of 10 trucks per day.

He said that this will solve the problem of farmers here not getting a market and price for their mangoes. Similarly, the operator Neupane says that by establishing a 2,000-metric-ton ‘cold storage’, the problems faced by farmers in selling agricultural products will be eliminated.

According to him, an industry to produce ‘lubricants’ will also be established in collaboration with Indian Petroleum.

Similarly, it will take about two years to build and operate the structure of the industry to generate three megawatts of electricity from other industries, ‘bitumen’ paints industry, and a solar plant to connect it to the national grid.

‘This will create direct employment opportunities for 500 people and indirect employment opportunities for 5,000 families,’ said operator Neupane. Meanwhile, Surunga Municipality Mayor Geeta Chaudhary expressed her happiness, saying that the people of this area will directly benefit after the establishment of the industry.

She expressed her confidence that Surunga’s name will reach heights after the establishment of the industry in this place. She also expressed her commitment to provide necessary support in the operation of the industry on behalf of the municipality.

According to project manager Bhishma Regmi, the cost estimate for the construction of all the structures of this industrial area is 4 billion.
