Nepal Life’s general meeting concludes, dividend proposal passed

Kathmandu. The 25th Annual General Meeting of Nepal’s most trusted life insurance company Nepal Life Insurance has concluded.

The Annual Work Progress Report for the financial year 2080/81 presented by the Chairman on behalf of the Board of Directors was discussed and passed in the meeting.

The financial statements including the balance sheet, profit and loss account and cash flow statement for the financial year 2080/81, along with the auditor’s report, were discussed and approved. The company stated that this meeting appointed an auditor for the financial year 2081/82 and fixed its remuneration.

The general meeting approved the financial statements for the financial year 2081/82. The bank has stated that it has unanimously passed the proposal to provide a total of 1.72 billion 79 million 92 thousand 959 rupees as dividend from the distributable profit of 2080/81, which is 21.05 percent of the current paid-up capital, including 10 percent bonus shares and 11.05 percent cash dividend (including tax on bonus shares and cash dividend).

Chairman Govinda Lal Sanghai expressed his commitment to move forward towards another golden journey by implementing structural reforms, full compliance with institutional good governance, a strong internal control system, the use of new technology in the service system, a balance between assets and liabilities, customer-centric planning, decentralization, training and research, and a new marketing strategy to take the company’s business share and prestige in the life insurance sector to new heights amidst all the challenges. .

Speaking at the 25th Annual General Meeting, Chief Executive Officer Praveen Raman Parajuli explained the business achievements and future plans achieved by turning the challenges faced in the financial year 2080/81 into opportunities.

Chief Executive Officer Parajuli said that the company will enter its 25th year on Baisakh 21 and said that various programs will be organized on the occasion keeping in mind the aspirations of all stakeholders.

He said that he felt proud to distribute this dividend even when the economic situation was not easy, and mentioned that the company is moving forward with investment diversification as its focus and to give substance to this, it has purchased land in various cities and the building construction processes will be started as soon as possible.

As of mid-October 2081, the company’s investment is 215 billion rupees, while the life insurance fund is 208 billion rupees and the shareholders’ fund is 12 billion more. The company is providing all life insurance related services to its service recipients and customers through its current network of 195 offices spread across the country.

Along with this, the company has so far earned insurance premiums of 288 billion rupees and paid a total of 84 billion claims. Keeping in mind the interests of the customers, the company has also expressed its commitment to provide additional services and facilities as needed from time to time.
