Manahari’s Uttam Shrestha earns 1 lakh per month by selling food

Manahari. Uttam Shrestha, a resident of Hetauda 17, has been earning Rs 1 lakh per month from the catering business. He has become self-reliant through this profession. His daily life is spent selling food from morning till late at night. Shrestha, who has been in the catering business for two years, has been operating Uttam Khuba Ghar in Chuchhe Khola. Before starting the catering business, Shrestha had been running a grocery store and mustard mail for a long time.

He said that Shrestha turned to the catering business after not being able to achieve much from the grocery store due to high borrowing in the village. He has taken over the catering business in the same place that is becoming a catering hub and today he is selling thirty kilos of catering daily. Along with catering, various sweets, banana mum, choila, pani, and nutritional products are sold in his shop. Having seen a lot of income in the catering business, he has also invested in buying buffaloes from farmers for milk supply.

He said, “Buffalo milk is needed for catering, so I have invested one million rupees in the farmers accordingly.” Moving from tradition to modernity, he is moving forward with a clean, neat and attractive decoration to run the business. He has an attractive shop in Chuchhe Khola, which is becoming a catering hub. He says that tourists should see it as clean and attractive, and accordingly, he produces clean and delicious dishes.

He also said that since he started the catering business, he has provided employment to six employees from his business. Shrestha informed that the monthly turnover from catering, including lunch and snacks, is one million rupees. He said that he spends eight and a half lakhs per month on monthly milk purchase, firewood for cooking, and employees. He said that he is more satisfied working in the catering business than in other professions. He said that he is thinking of further expanding the catering business with the help of his family.

Since it is possible to earn 1 lakh per month by selling food, he has presented an example of how the youth who go abroad to earn money can earn money in the country. He said that the food produced from his shop will be exported to Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Kavro, Chitwan and other districts. Nowadays, Uttam’s catering shop attracts travelers and connoisseurs of catering who walk along the Kantilok Path. He has presented a good example of how to become self-reliant through the catering business.
