Kathmandu. Four associations have stood together against the ongoing attacks on banks and financial institutions. They have urged all customers not to believe in false information, saying that chaotic activities are being carried out to disrupt banks and financial institutions.
Issuing a joint statement, the four organizations have said that they have drawn attention to the chaotic activities currently being carried out by various banks, financial and microfinance institutions in Nepal.
The Nepal Bankers Association, Nepal Financial Institutions Association, Development Bankers Association Nepal, Nepal Microfinance Bankers Association and other organizations have drawn attention to the misleading and false information and news being spread on social media using the names of banks and financial institutions.

The financial statement reads, ‘We request you to pay no attention to the false and misleading comments appearing on social media and to take only the information and news communicated by the concerned concerned bodies as official.’
In addition, the associations have urged the government bodies to take necessary action against those who scare the general public, disturb the society, make false, objectionable statements and deprive customers of the right to use banking services. False propaganda is being spread targeting Global IME Bank regarding the construction of a cable car in Pathibhara. Some time ago, medical professional Durga Prasai spread false propaganda by saying that he does not have to repay the loan he has taken from the bank.
Nowadays, it is becoming difficult to collect the loans invested by banks and financial institutions. The insecurity of the lives of employees of banks and financial institutions has also started increasing.
