Doha: Nabil Bank has completed an awareness program on safe banking transactions targeting Nepali migrant workers in Qatar. More than 100 Nepali migrant workers participated in the program titled ‘Ghar Ta Nepal’ organized at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Qatar.
In the program organized in coordination with Nabil Investment Banking Limited and Nabil Stock Dealer Limited, representatives from various departments of Nabil Bank held interactive discussions on remittance, deposits, digital banking, loans and investments, as well as financial awareness, use of financial services, savings and investments.
Information was given at the program about the ‘Nabil Skilled Migrant Entrepreneurial Loan’, which was introduced with the aim of promoting entrepreneurship among Nepali workers who have returned from abroad.
On that occasion, the Nepali Ambassador to Qatar Ramesh Chandra Poudel urged the use of formal channels when sending money to Nepal as sending money through formal channels would benefit the entire economy of Nepal.
Addressing the program, Ambassador Poudel said, ‘For financial security, overseas Nepalis should send their remittances safely and systematically through the formal banking system. This will not only protect your hard work properly, but will also make a significant contribution to Nepal’s economic stability.’
Gyanendra Prasad Dhungana, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nabil Bank, emphasized the significant contribution of Nepali workers to the development of the economies of both Nepal and Qatar. Noting that the number of Nepalese workers in Qatar is the largest after India, he said that the purpose of their visit was to inform about digital services.
In which one can open a bank account online using a Qatari mobile, apply for a loan, and invest in SIP, mutual funds, and the stock market through other companies under the bank, he said.

By making informed financial decisions and utilizing banking services properly, we can transform remittances into sustainable investments, which benefit our families and the economy of Nepal.”
Mahendra Prasad Chamlagai, President of Nepal Business Association Qatar, played a significant role in the success of the program. At the end of the program, stand-up comedian Suman Kaki gave a performance.
