Kathmandu. Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Poudel has said that the government has launched the HPV vaccination campaign to make Nepali women and the future of Nepal healthy.
Speaking at the HPV vaccination campaign program organized by the Ministry of Health and Population at Shivapuri Secondary School in Maharajgunj on Tuesday in the context of World Cancer Day, Health Minister Poudel said this. He said that the government has a campaign to make Nepal healthy and will continue to conduct such campaigns to make Nepali healthy.
He claimed that the HPV vaccination campaign against cervical cancer was launched to make Nepali women and the future of Nepal healthy, and said that the vaccine will be provided to girls in grades 6 to 10 and girls in the age group of 10 to 14.
Minister Poudel said that many women in Nepal have died from cervical cancer and the government has launched a campaign so that Nepali women do not have to suffer from that situation in the future.
He said that out of the 6 women who die every day, four women still die due to cervical cancer. He mentioned that there is data. He mentioned that the government has started work in the preventive sector to increase immunity to minimize the current situation.
Minister Poudel said that the HPV vaccine is a vaccine that has been successfully tested in the world and will not have any impact on health, saying, ‘This vaccine does not affect people in any way. It is a vaccine that has been successful in testing. The responsibility to treat the disease lies with the state. When the disease is increasing, it is not easy to bear more responsibility than the capacity. Therefore, the vaccine has been arranged to allow the disease to occur. How can Nepalis be made healthy? New problems are coming. The impact of climate change has increased. The impact of environmental change has increased. There is a situation where diseases are increasing due to non-food items.’
‘What kind of campaign does the government need to run to make Nepalis healthy? The HPV vaccination campaign was launched to benefit Nepali women and the future of Nepal. The vaccination was started so that women do not have to face such a situation in the future. The statistics show that out of the six women who die every day, four die due to cervical cancer. To reduce this, the government has started work in the preventive sector to increase immunity, he said.
He said that the government has planned and moved forward with a campaign to work in the preventive sector of every disease, and everyone’s cooperation is needed to vaccinate all girls from grades 6 to 10.
He said that all girls aged 10 to 14 who are out of school for various reasons should be vaccinated. He said that this vaccine will be provided to boys from grades 6 to 10 and girls from grades 6 to 10 every year.
He said that the number of people in the age group of 10 to 14 is about 1.7 million and that the government will provide the vaccine to everyone, adding that the government has already arranged for more than 1.7 million vaccines.
