Kathmandu. CPN (Maoist Center) Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey has accused the government of failing to work towards good governance. Speaking in the House of Representatives meeting on Friday, Chief Whip Pandey made this allegation.
He claimed that the country has not been able to move forward properly in matters of governance. He said that the government has been working to sideline the opposition and keep the ruling party in its lap. He stressed that since the government is the ruling party and the opposition, it should not be working to sideline the ruling party and the opposition, and stressed that the government should move forward with work based on policies and rules.
He said that the government has not been able to pay attention to inflation control and issues of people’s livelihood to meet the expectations of the people. He said that the government has not been able to control the situation even though the people have been complaining about the increase in prices of construction materials and other items.
He mentioned that the government has not been serious about the issue of returning the savings of cooperative victims and accused the government of suppressing the people when they protested about the construction of a cable car at the Pathibhara temple.
He said that it is not right to suppress the people by imposing police administration where all parties should resolve the problem through discussions and move forward by protecting culture and traditions, and said that the government does not want to bring bills to parliament to implement federalism.
He said, ‘The way the country should go in terms of governance is not the way it should be. It has not been able to go that way. The government is siding with the ruling party and the opposition. The government should not do the work of siding with the ruling party and the opposition. The government should move forward with the work based on policies and rules. The government has not paid attention to the issues of price control and livelihood in a way that meets the expectations of the people.’
‘The government has suppressed the people when they protested against the construction of a cable car at the Pathibhara temple. When such problems arise, it is not right to suppress the people by imposing police administration where they should sit down and discuss, and move forward by protecting culture and traditions. The government needs to solve the problem. The government has not brought bills to the parliament to implement federalism on the issue of organizing the parliament,’ he said.
He said that it was wrong for the government to formulate a strategy to run the country through ordinances. He said that the ordinances were introduced by circumventing Parliament and that some ordinances appeared to be introduced for the benefit of individual groups and businessmen.
