Lumbini. Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) Lumbini Province has demanded the establishment of a base for ‘narrow-body’ airlines at Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa. NATTA has concluded that the Bhairahawa base will be sustainable only if narrow-body aircraft are operated for China, third countries on the Buddhist path and Gulf countries, the destination for workers.

The workshop held in Butwal reached this conclusion, a press release issued today said. In a statement issued jointly signed by the organization’s President Chandra Bahadur Thapa and General Secretary Sita Basyal, it has been demanded that the government make a more effective plan for the operation of Gautam Buddha Airport in Bhairahawa.

Similarly, NATTA has also demanded that a package with incentive facilities be announced and that daily inter-provincial air connectivity flights be arranged for a fixed period by at least one aircraft of all domestic airlines.

Similarly, it has also demanded that a passenger-friendly policy be adopted by announcing bus and hotel facilities concessions for international air passengers. The list of tourism programs to be held throughout the year has been determined through the planning workshop and fellowship program, the press release states.

It is stated that various thematic committees have also been formed with the participation of 50 travel entrepreneurs through the workshop and fellowship program hosted by Lumbini Province Tourism Council member Madhav Nepal.
