Kathmandu. Currently, the western region of the country is under the influence of a western low-pressure system. The weather is partly cloudy in the hilly regions of Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, while the rest of the region is clear.
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has also reported that fog has settled in many parts of the Terai. Meteorologist Pratibha Manandhar said that fog will not break in the Terai region for the next week and will gradually disappear after that.
The temperature in the Kathmandu Valley has also started to gradually increase. The minimum temperature here was measured at 6.1 degrees Celsius on Thursday morning, but it has remained at 6.1 degrees Celsius today. The department has forecast that the maximum temperature here today will be 21 to 23 degrees Celsius.
According to the department, the weather will be partly cloudy in the hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali provinces this afternoon, while the weather will remain mainly clear in the rest of the region. There is a possibility of light snowfall in one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous areas of Karnali Province.
