Kathmandu. Golyan Group is set to generate 500 megawatts of electricity from solar plants in Nepal. Organizing an event on Wednesday, the group said that it aims to generate electricity within the next 24 to 30 months.
Golyan Group and Indian solar company Prozill Green Energy have already signed an agreement. Prozill Energy informed that it has already generated 2,000 megawatts of electricity from solar plants in various places in India and is in the process of producing 1,000 megawatts.
Shobit Rai, Managing Director of Prozill Green Energy, said that the said project will play an important role in Nepal’s clean and green future. Electricity Regulatory Commission Chairman Ram Prasad Dhital said that there has been an increase in enthusiasm for renewable energy production in Nepal.
Ganesh Karki, Chairman of the Independent Power Producers Association (IPPAN), said that generating 500 megawatts of electricity from solar plants is a very good plan. He said that the government needs to make many policy reforms to encourage renewable energy production.
