Chhath Parva, which is celebrated from Kartik Shukla Chaturthi to Saptami, is celebrated by worshipping Lord Surya. Ghats like Gaurighat, Thapathali, Kamal Pokhari and others in the Kathmandu Valley are decorated for Chhath.
According to Surya Purana, Anusuya, the wife of Atri Muni, was the first to observe Chhath fast. As a result, she received unwavering good fortune and love for her husband.
