Kathmandu. Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal Director General Engineer Pradeep Adhikari has warned of action if local levels and national parks ban helicopter flights. Responding to questions raised after presenting the annual progress report of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal on the occasion of its 26th anniversary on Tuesday, Director General Adhikari gave this warning.
Last December, the Sagarmatha National Park had banned commercial helicopter flights, saying that helicopter flights and landings in the park area had added additional challenges to the safety and habitat protection of the park’s forests, environment and wildlife.
Responding to a question raised on the same subject, Director General Adhikari said that only the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal can give permission or not to give permission for air flights in Nepal. He warned that action will be taken against state employees and public elected officials in accordance with the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal 2053 BS and the Civil Aviation Act, 2015, if they act against the rules and work outside their scope.
The Director General Adhikari said that the authority will not even listen to the words of stopping air flights. News Agency Nepal
