Kathmandu. Birgunj Metropolitan City is going to train more than 10,000 girls in self-defense at once. The training is going to be given to girls from grades 6 to 12 within the metropolis, informed the mayor of the metropolis, Rajeshman Singh.
He said that more than 10,000 girls from community and private schools and campuses of Birgunj will participate in the training program that will start at 10 am on Wednesday. He informed that preparations are also being made to write the name of the metropolis in the Guinness Book of World Records by training more than 10,000 girls simultaneously.
He also urged the general citizens to make the program a success as this training will make Birgunj’s name internationally famous if it is successfully completed. The training is being organized by Birgunj Metropolitan City and coordinated by the Nepal-India Cooperation Forum by inviting renowned Indian martial arts instructor Dr. Chita Yajnesh Setty to provide training to the participants, informed the Deputy Chief of the Metropolitan City, Imtiyaz Alam.
All preparations have been made for the training to be held at the Adarshan Nagar Stadium and security arrangements have been made, including arrangements for bringing and taking the girls, said Arvind Lal Karna, Acting Chief Administrative Officer of the Metropolitan City. Coach Shetty, who comes from India, is also an actor, director, producer, martial artist and fitness instructor.
He has given self-defense training to many Bollywood and Hollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Govinda, Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan, Rekha, Karisma Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Madhuri Dixit, Roger Moore, Jackie Chan. Ashok Vaid, President of Nepal-India Cooperation Association, expressed his belief that the training given by the renowned coach will enable the girls (teenagers) to defend themselves.
At the press conference, Coach Shetty said that he was happy to come to train the girls of Nepal. Female volunteers have been deployed to organize the training to be held on Wednesday.
