Kathmandu. Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that youth should be given employment according to their skills. He said this while addressing the inaugural session of the 6th Asian Population Conference.
He said that it is necessary for the countries of South Asia, which has 60 percent of the world’s population, to manage the youth according to their skills.
He said that if the youth cannot be engaged in entrepreneurship with new innovations in the production sector, the trend of emigration will increase further, and despite the inadequacy of the means and resources required for the growing population, it is necessary to prevent the youth from emigrating and employ them in the productive sector.
President Deuba also said that Nepal has succeeded in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in reproductive health, saying, ‘The countries of South Asia, which have 60 percent of the world’s population, must manage the youth according to their skills. It is necessary. If we cannot engage the youth in entrepreneurship with new innovations in the productive sector, then there is a risk of them going abroad in search of opportunities, so our plans and priorities need to be focused on that.’
‘Despite the inadequacy of the means and resources required for the growing population, it is important that we prevent our youth from going abroad and engage them in the productive sector. Nepal has succeeded in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in reproductive health. I expect the conference to provide guidance on the welfare of the people, taking into account the impact of climate change,’ he said.
President Deuba expressed confidence that the conference would provide guidance on the impact of climate change and the use of skilled manpower.
