Federation demands strict implementation of cargo transportation regulations

Kathmandu. The Federation of Nepal Truck Transport Entrepreneurs has demanded that the government strictly implement cargo transportation regulations. The Nepal Truck Transport Entrepreneurs Federation made the demand at a press conference on Monday.

According to the federation, overloading of vehicles has damaged the country’s national highways and bridges and the number of accidents has also increased.

The federation said, ‘According to the 2065 BS Transport Regulations, mandatory arrangements were implemented to check the load of goods vehicles, but chaos has arisen since it was not implemented properly.’

‘In a discussion program held on 2 Mangsir 2081 BS in the presence of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak to reduce vehicle accidents, it was decided that the head of the last guard unit of the vehicle would be held responsible in case of overloading,’ the federation said. .

The Federation has drawn serious attention to this issue and urged the Government of Nepal to take immediate initiatives for the safety of road infrastructure and prevention of accidents.

Federation General Secretary Rajendra Bikram Baniya said, “This is the time when the government should take strong steps to protect road infrastructure and prevent accidents.”
