Kathmandu. Executive Chairman of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) in the US elections, Dr. Badri KC, has made a serious mistake by making the results public without informing the election committee.

Executive Chairman KC has already received the election results through Vero Voting Company and shared them with close people. The voting company in Australia belongs to KC. Although he claims to have received the results after the election committee, members have accused KC of initially taking the results from his own company and manipulating them. KC has admitted that he received the results from the company and shared them with the office bearers.

After protests against the election committee not receiving the results and making them public, KC has issued a statement admitting his mistake. He has also admitted that he received the results from the company himself and shared them on the WhatsApp group. The statement also mentions that the results were leaked to the media while the Election Committee was preparing to make them public.

“The association apologizes for the inconvenience caused by the suspicion that the results were leaked by the association officials before the election committee officially made them public. We commit to making a ‘clear procedure for publishing the results’ to prevent such errors from recurring in the future. Everyone is requested not to raise any questions about the credibility of the election committee, which has been working day and night to make the elections clean, transparent and fair, and not to make negative comments,” the statement said.

It has been alleged that some officials, including Chairman KC, ordered the company to leak the results to suit themselves. Members have protested, saying that the elections were not fair. They have also demanded that elections be held again.

The NRNA ICC had also split after a dispute over the same issue. The old problem has resurfaced at a time when the NRNA, which was divided due to a dispute over the electoral system, has united. Yagyaraj Subedi has written that the ICC has violated the right of only the election committee to see on social media. He has written that the ICC has no moral right to interfere with the rights of the NCC.
