NRN rebel chairman RK Sharma shows strength, meets with Prime Minister, Deuba, Finance Minister and Foreign Minister on the same day

Kathmandu. The team led by the newly elected rebel president of the Non-Resident Nepal Association (NRNA) RK Sharma has started a show of strength.

The team led by Sharma had announced a parallel committee after the digital voting was rigged by Dr. Badri KC’s group.

Sharma, who is close to the CPN-Maoist Center, Badri KC, who is close to the UML, and Mahesh Shrestha, who is close to the Congress, competed for the post of president. KC, who is close to the UML, and most of the candidates from his panel were elected in the disputed election. Candidates Sharma and Shrestha had accused Dr. KC of monopolizing the election by seizing the voting machine. After KC monopolized the oath and took office, the Sharma group formed a parallel committee.  

Sharma met Prime Minister Prachanda, Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat and Foreign Minister NP Saud on the same day.

Sharma has gone one step ahead of KC and has raced for legality. Sharma has also been supported by another candidate for the presidency, Mahesh Shrestha. Shrestha has accepted the role of advisor in the Sharma-led NRN. NRN’s outgoing president Kul Acharya has also supported Sharma.

Sharma had filed his candidacy in the NRN representing Qatar. He is considered a special person of Prime Minister Prachanda.              

In a meeting held today at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, Prime Minister Prachanda congratulated the NRNA Working Committee led by RK Sharma and wished them a successful tenure. On that occasion, Prime Minister Prachanda said that the role of non-resident Nepalis is essential in Nepal’s economic development and prosperity and said that the government is ready to facilitate it.

“I am confident that the NRNA campaign will move forward unitedly,” Prime Minister Prachanda said, “The government is always ready to cooperate with non-resident Nepalis on issues of national development.”

Prime Minister Prachanda said that the Citizenship Bill has been implemented as per the demands of non-resident Nepalis and non-resident citizenship has been granted and a system will be implemented in the coming days to allow Nepalis to vote from abroad.  

Prime Minister Prachanda suggested that there are many investment opportunities in Nepal before the new working committee. He said that non-resident Nepalis will play an important role in the prosperity of the country and mentioned that the government is ready to cooperate in the journey of prosperity.

. The working committee led by the newly elected President of the Non-Resident Nepal Association (NRNA) Rajendra Kumar (RK) Sharma has met with Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

On Sunday itself, a team led by Sharma had met Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba at Deuba’s residence in Dhumbarahi. During the meeting, President Deuba congratulated the NRNA Working Committee led by RK Sharma and wished them a successful tenure.  

On Sunday, Foreign Minister NP Saud met the newly elected working committee of the NRNA led by Sharma. During the meeting, Minister Saud said that he was confident that they would be able to start good work for the state, bring in investment capital, and work for the greater good of Nepalis living abroad.

In the meeting, Foreign Minister Saud congratulated and wished the new working committee led by Sharma and informed that they would move forward in cooperation.

Meeting with the Finance Minister led by Sharma, a team of NRNA officials They demanded that remittances be invested in the productive sector, that a 2 percent incentive be given to those who send remittances legally, and that a collective investment authority be formed to invest remittances in productive sectors.
